ABOUT THE CALLIGRAPHER:
My name is Anita Stewart and I live in Rome, Georgia. Since I was in the third grade I have taken pride in my handwriting. I selected education as my career path and particularly enjoyed teaching penmanship to my young students. When I became an elementary school principal, I used my calligraphy skills to fill out awards and certificates for the students in my school. After 40 years in education, I retired and have once again put my handwriting into action.
I enjoy helping brides make their day even more special by addressing invitations, writing wedding vows in calligraphy, completing placecards, table cards, and seating charts. I learned how to make bridal garters from my mother, who is 94 years old and still sews! I design and make elegant wedding garters. Every stitch is completed by hand. Every garter is different and created especially for the bride. I would like to make a heirloom garter for your special day. Please look at some of the garters I have made during this past year.
I specialize in making garter and wedding handkerchiefs for mothers-of-the-bride. If you have any special lace or an old wedding dress and wish for some of it to be incorporated into a garter or handkerchief, I can design something special for you.
